 Mid`West Soldiers Mission

The Mid'West Soldiers Performing Arts team is a skill based building program that seeks to attract "at risk" youth in urban communities, whom is no longer interested in traditional recreational activities. This program has established since January 2006 and was created to provide our youth with a positive alternative, directing them from the lures of the streets, such as gang violence and drug activity.

The program is designed to impose a positive out look on life while engaging in a core value system with physical and mental development and training. Our values promote cultural awareness, academic excellence, social engagement as well as self confidence and awareness, making them more resistant to antisocial behavior. Our program is well focused and will improve the lives of all disadvantaged youth.

Our organization has experienced a rapid growth in the few months that we've been established, which now gives us the opportunity to serve other communities such as North Mpls, South Mpls, Blaine, Fridley and our base location St. Paul. Recent studies show that the rate of older adolescents who are neither employed nor in school routinely exceeds 25% and they can look forward as an adult to a staggering joblessness rate of 59% as well as a life marked by violence and incarceration. Our program requires youth to attend school and maintain at least a C average before they can participate in any upcoming events. With many of our youth coming from single parent homes or households with little or no structure, we provide education assistance in helping our youth develope a C or better average and maintain it. We instill in our participants a sense of pride, intergrity, individual responsibility, mentoring and training and above all respect, not only for others, but for self as well. We specialize in these life values all while providing a fun, caring, physical, challenging, and demanding environment, while educating our youth and requiring them to work hard to accomplish their goals in the future!
